Louloudis Winery - 100 years of experience
Since 1920 – A history of 3 generations
LOULOUDIS WINERY dates back to 1920 in Dafnes, Heraklion. At that time grandfather Antonis Louloudis cultivated in his vineyards liatiko, takta and kotsifali. He created on his own all the necessary equipment, and in barrels from wood and animal skin transported wine to Heraklion by cart. In 1974 his sons took over and upgraded the winery.
They stored the wine in concrete tanks and wooden barrels and transported it in plastic barrels. Since 1999, grandson Antonis, has taken the reins. In 2004, he planted new local, Greek and international wine varieties such as spinach muscat, thrapsathiri, screw, washed, syrah, merlot, sauvignon blanc, etc. In 2012, wine pouring workshops began operation. And the wine changed to being stored in stainless steel tanks and aged in oak barrels.
The first bottling for the LOULOUDIS WINERY started in 2016 with the * Kakó Nount" in white and red. In 2017 and 2018, five more new labels came about.
A new era began just before the sooth anniversary of the winery.
